Vijayakanth’s sentiment

Aandal and Azhagar are the names of Captain Vijayakanth’s parents. He has named his marriage hall after his parents’ name (Aandal Azhagar Thirumana Mandapam). He has opted for the same names for his engineering collage too.

Sources close to Captain say that he has also been nurturing a desire to produce a film with a title that has his parents’ names.

However, there is already a film with the title ‘Aandal Azhagar’ in the making. Director Magadurai is making it with relatively new faces.

It is surprising that there is no protest in any form from Captain’s side. It seems that Vijayakanth doesn’t want to monopolize his parents’ names, which are the names of the Gods widely worshiped in and around Madurai. He might have even felt that this too could be a tribute to his parents.

By the way, the film ‘Aandal Azhagar’ is growing in a steady pace without any fanfare. The shooting is going on in places like Chithambaram, Thiruvannamalai, Kodaikkanal, and Chennai. Maamadurai also has plans to shoot a song near Taj Mahal.
